It’s Founders’ Award Nomination Time!
If you think the Oscars are the only awards getting a buzz in February, you’re missing out on something! Nominations are being accepted right now for NAPO’s most prestigious accolade, the Founders’ Award. In case you’re not familiar with how Founders’ Award nominations work, the Awards & Recognition Committee wants you to have the exclusive scoop on the process.
You have probably heard or read this description:
In the spirit of NAPO’s founders, The Founders’ Award is presented to a NAPO member, or a group of NAPO members acting in concert, for outstanding contributions to the organizing and productivity industry and for helping move the organizing and productivity profession forward.
Each year, NAPO honors many of its extraordinary members for service and achievement, but the Founders’ Award stands apart, highlighting nominees who have gone that extra mile in the productivity and organizing profession. Examples of worthy achievements might include innovating new ideas, systems or solutions; demonstrating outstanding leadership and inspiration to others; or creatively streamlining processes to help organizers, productivity professionals, and consumers.
On behalf of the Awards & Recognition Committee I encourage all of you, NAPO friends, to nominate one (or a group) of our outstanding colleagues for this year’s award. Need some inspiration? Check out what these previous winners had to say about what winning the award meant to them:
“Being recognized with NAPO’s Founders’ Award was, for me, an elixir of respect and affection — an extraordinary experience of being seen and appreciated for who I am and how I contribute. Years later, I am sustained by the memory of receiving that award.” – Denslow Brown, Founders’ Award 2009
“Receiving the Founders Award is a truly wonderful experience, not only because it affirms that your work benefits your profession, but also because you are chosen by your peers to receive the award. If we were somehow recognized by the public that would be lovely, but being recognized by your colleagues who have the same challenges you do, and who know the nuts and bolts of the business, is particularly humbling and gratifying.” – Monica Ricci, Founders’ Award 2008
“Though I received the Founders’ Award twenty years ago, it still has great meaning to me. It honored me for the contributions I made in the past and inspires me to continue to advance our profession.” – Judith Kolberg, Founders’ Award 1996
Since the Founders’ Award represents the highest honor in NAPO, the requirements are detailed and specific. Check the following link to see the eligibility guidelines, and follow the instructions carefully to complete a nomination form: http://point.napo.net/new-item31/awards/foundersaward1
